ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Answers the telephone and greets visitors to the court, provides information as requested; responds to emails and faxes as necessary.
Utilizes computerized data entry equipment and various word processing and file maintenance programs to enter, store, and/or retrieve information; maintains pertinent files and records; scans and copies documents as necessary; ensures files are complete and accurate.
Process cases in accordance with court policies and procedures.
Process deferrals, probations, judgements, pre-sentence matters, failures to appear, warrants and other related process in a prompt and in a timely manner.
Accurately collect fines and bond payments.
Accurately receipts various methods of payments in the computer.
Accurately process jail credit and community service.
Accurately and promptly process, type and mail correspondence.
Input information into computer and check for accuracy.
Maintain and submit clerical activity reports in a timely manner as required.
Research and retrieve records which may require climbing ladder, lifting, pushing and/or pulling boxes weighing up to 40lbs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the basic operations of a municipal court.
Skilled in operating a computer, related software applications and routine office equipment.
Ability to interact with the public, city employees and other city officials in a positive, professional, and productive manner.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to accurately sort and file alphabetically and numerically.
Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to type 35 to 40 words per minute.
Must be able to use 10-key calculator.
Attend job-related training, seminars and/or meetings as directed.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is requited.
Two years clerical experience involving public contact, preferably one year being as a cashier/teller or a position consistently dealing with money.
Municipal Court experience is preferred.
Working knowledge of LTS Systems Software Court 1 certification required.
Valid Driver's license CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Must complete an Employment Application.
Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
